While at SMC, he helped coach the Gaels to an undefeated 18-0-2 season and played a pivotal role in developing the school’s first two All-Americans. Duffy has close to 20 years of coaching experience at the youth level, including reaching the former US Soccer Development Academy U-16 National Championship in back to back years as a Coach, Director of Coaching, and Academy Director with Cal Odyssey.  During that time, Cal Odyssey was named #1 Development Club in CA and #9 in the Nation by Soccer America (the only non-MLS Club to make the list) and placed multiple players on U15-U20 Youth National Teams.

Duffy developed as a youth player with the Kansas City Attack Soccer Club and went on to win the USYSA Andy Stone Cup (U-18 National Championship) with Scott Gallagher Soccer Club. While attending Blue Valley Northwest High School, Duffy earned All-American nominations as both a Defender and a Goalkeeper and was inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame in 2018. While attending Saint Mary's College of CA, Duffy was a 4-year starter and 2-year Captain, while earning All-Conference honors as a Defender.
